IPL 2022 | Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman Glenn Maxwell feels Virat Kohli looks "stressed" these days without the burden of captaincy, which is a dangerous sign for the opposition teams in the upcoming Indian Premier League. Kohli, who stepped down as RCB captain after last year's IPL, also stepped down as captain of the national T20 and Test teams while he was dropped from the captaincy of the ODI side.

Maxwell believes that Kohli is no longer the aggressive cricketer on the field to give befitting reply as he used to be and this is surprising. Maxwell said on RCB's podcast, "He knows that he has given up the responsibility of captain which I think was probably a big burden for him. Perhaps it was a burden on him for some time and now that he is free from it, it is probably dangerous news for the opposition team.

Australia's aggressive batsman Maxwell is happy that Kohli is at a stage where he will really enjoy himself.

"It will be wonderful for him to feel a little relieved and he will actually be able to enjoy the next few years of his career without any external pressure. I think playing against him before, he was a very aggressive competitor, giving you answers on the field. He always tried to dominate the game. Tried to dominate the opponent. ,

Maxwell said that he enjoys talking about cricket with Kohli and is surprised that the former India captain has become his close friend.
