GT vs MI LIVE Cricket Score, IPL 2022 / Mumbai beat Gujarat by 5 runs in a thriller

In the 51st match of IPL 2022, Mumbai Indians defeated Gujarat Titans by 5 runs. GT had a target of 178, in response to which the team could only score 172/5 and lost the match. At one time GT's score was 138/3 for 16 overs and was considered as the favorite for the team's victory, but after that MI's bowlers showed their strength and did not give any chance to the Titans.


This is only the second win for Mumbai in the current tournament in 10 matches. The team has lost 8 matches. At the same time, this is GT's third defeat in 11 matches. Gujarat Toutons, captained by Hardik, have won 8 matches.


Earlier, batting after losing the toss, MI scored 177 for the loss of 6 wickets. Ishan Kishan scored the highest 45 runs, while Tim David played a blistering innings of 44 runs in 21 balls. Rashid Khan took 2 wickets for Gujarat.

Brilliant innings from Saha

Wriddhiman completed his half-century in 34 balls while batting brilliantly. This is his 10th in IPL and 5th 50+ score against MI. Both the players were creating problems for Gujarat by playing big shots continuously. This partnership was broken by Rashid Khan by dismissing Rohit. Hitman was dismissed for 43 runs in 28 balls.

Rohit's great innings

Playing a stormy innings, Rohit Sharma scored 43 runs in 28 balls. He seems to be in a very aggressive rhythm. In the 8th over, Rashid Khan took the wicket of the Mumbai captain. Actually, there was an LBW appeal against Rohit and the umpire declared Not-Out. After this Rashid demanded a review. Replays showed that the ball was hitting the wicket and the umpire had to change his decision.


Before getting out, he made a big record in his name. Along with hitting the first six of his innings in the match, Rohit Sharma completed his 200 sixes for Mumbai Indians. Rohit became the second player after Kieron Pollard to make this record for Mumbai. In his innings of 43 runs, Rohit hit 5 fours and 2 sixes.


Interesting Fact: David Miller's 100th Match:

This is the 100th IPL match of Gujarat Titans middle order batsman David Miller. He became only the third South African player after AB de Villiers (184) and Faf du Plessis (111) to set this record.
