The government will sell its entire 100 percent stake in Air India. The Union Minister said in his statement that we have decided that there will be 100% disinvestment of Air India. There is no choice between disinvestment and non-disinvestment. Although, Air India is now making money, but right now we are incurring a loss of Rs 20 crore per day. The company has so far had an outstanding debt of Rs 60,000 crore. Let us know that Air India has been incurring losses since its merger with Indian Airlines in 2007.

Puri asking for the money from Finance Minister for Air India, says that I do not have enough capacity to go to FM Nirmala Sitharaman again and again to give me some more money. In the past, the efforts to privatize Air India were not successful, because they were not done whole heartedly. He also said that the domestic airline sector is now recovering from the effects of the Corona virus epidemic.

In the last meeting, the shortlisted bidders for the disinvestment of Air India were listed and bids were sought within 64 days. According to the government statement, the disinvestment process of Air India is likely to be completed by May or June.
