HDFC Bank in Tamil Nadu made more than 100 of its customers rich for one day. On Sunday, the bank had put Rs 13-13 crore in their accounts. However, after some time this happiness of the customers vanished. The mistake made by the country's big bank has now become a matter of discussion.

In fact, Chennai's T. An SMS was received by 100 customers associated with HDFC Bank branch in Nagar. Through the message, the bank told every customer that Rs 13 crore has been deposited in his account. Meaning a total of Rs 1300 crore messages were sent by the bank.

As soon as such a huge amount arrived in the account, the senses of a customer were blown away. He informed the police, as he was afraid that his account might be hacked.

When the police contacted the bank branch officials, it was told that the SMS was lost due to some technical fault. It turned out that the branch was in the process of a software patch, due to which this problem occurred. However, the problem was limited to a few accounts with the same HDFC Bank branch in Chennai.

An HDFC source said it was only due to a technical snag. There was no hacking and Rs 13 crore was not deposited in the accounts of 100 customers. Due to the error, only the message was delivered.

The bank source further said, "On receiving the information, we immediately stopped withdrawing money from these accounts. During this time only money can be deposited in the account. At the same time, until the problem is resolved, this restriction will not be removed.

Officials claim that 80 per cent of the problem has been fixed on Sunday. When asked what kind of problem customers will face while filing IT returns, he was told that the same will definitely be resolved.
