Rajasthan News: Health Minister Parsadi Lal Meena has said that under the Right to Health (RTH) Bill, big private hospitals will have to provide free treatment. The bill will get approval from the Governor this month itself. Right to health will be implemented in Rajasthan from May. As soon as the rules are implemented, big hospitals will have to provide free treatment to patients in case of emergency. The Health Minister was interacting with the media at the New Delhi Congress Headquarters (AICC) on Friday.

Meena said that private hospitals were opposing the RTH bill. We have categorically refused to withdraw the bill or amend the bill, but we are including their demands in the rules. The private hospitals which are protesting today will welcome it once the rules are made.

Just as 1000 private hospitals are linked to the Chiranjeevi scheme, in the same way they will be linked to Right to Health. We haven't forced anyone. Hospitals with less than 50 beds have not been taken under the ambit of RTH.

The Health Minister said that the hospitals which have taken land from the government free of cost or at a concessional rate, are taking government assistance. Those big hospitals will have to provide free treatment in emergency.

Government hospitals are already under the purview. Our government resources are many, they will do the treatment. We had promised to make Right to Health law in the manifesto, we are implementing the promise made to the public.

Lord Ram also had an emergency

Parsadi Lal Meena said that treating emergency is the duty of a doctor. Lord Ram also had an emergency when Laxman was hit with the Shaktibaan. At that time the enemy's doctor had treated Laxman. Told that Sanjivani herb is needed for them. If Sanjivani Booti was not found then Laxman's life would not have been saved. This is the religion of the doctor.

The World Health Organization also has a guideline that in the event of an emergency, a doctor should provide treatment. The profession of a doctor is considered a very noble profession. Everyone will agree on the Right to Health Bill.

Chiranjeevi's limit of 25 lakhs at the behest of Rahul Gandhi

Parsadi said that during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi had seen the exhibition of government schemes including Chiranjeevi Yojana. Chiranjeevi was very impressed with the plan.

Rahul Gandhi had then asked what would be the next step after the Chiranjeevi scheme, then the Chief Minister had said that now we will implement Right to Health. In the Chiranjeevi scheme, earlier there was free treatment up to 10 lakhs. Now at the behest of Rahul Gandhi, its limit has been increased to Rs 25 lakh.

Rajasthan government is spending 7 percent of the budget on health

The Health Minister said that Rajasthan has emerged as a model in the field of health. Today the Rajasthan model is being discussed. During the BJP rule, there was three per cent budget in the health sector, today we have increased it to seven per cent. Which is more than the national average.

Compulsory free treatment in case of emergency in the Right to Health Bill

There is a provision in the Right to Health Bill that in case of emergency, no hospital will be able to refuse treatment to the patient. Along with treating the emergency patient free of cost, it will also be the responsibility of the hospital to refer him to the higher center.

A provision has been made for a fine of Rs 25,000 for refusing treatment. Private doctors were agitating against this provision. Three days ago an agreement was signed with the private doctors. Now only hospitals with more than 50 beds will come under the purview of this bill, hospitals smaller than this will come under its purview.

The Gehlot government has got the Right to Health (RTH) bill passed in the assembly to give relief to the patients. Rajasthan will become the first state in the country to give patients the right to health. Private hospitals and doctors were opposing this bill, but the government satisfied them by agreeing to the demands through negotiations.

The three-day Rashtriya Seva Sangam being organized by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh for the third time in the country and for the first time in Rajasthan, started in Jaipur. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said on the inauguration of the Sangam that the people of the missionary society are doing service work along with running hospitals and schools all over the world. When we toured the country and saw what the saints were doing, we came to know that the saints are doing a better job than the missionaries.
