Shiv Sena : A hearing was held in the Supreme Court on Wednesday on Uddhav's plea against handing over the name and symbol of Shiv Sena to the Shinde faction. The Supreme Court has not stayed the decision of the Election Commission. However, by issuing notices to the Uddhav group and the Shinde camp, they have sought a reply within two weeks.
CJI DY Chandrachud said that at this stage we cannot stay the order. The Shinde faction has proved itself before the Election Commission. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal appeared on behalf of the Uddhav faction. He asked the court to maintain status quo. However, the court did not pass any such order.
The Shinde faction had also filed a caveat in the Supreme Court before Uddhav's petition. In which it was said that the Supreme Court must hear its side before giving any decision.
