An incident that shames mother's love has come to light in Mandi city. The woman, who had eloped with her lover from Jalandhar, Punjab, about a year ago, threw her two newborn twin daughters of three months into the Sakhodi gorge to come back to her husband's house, due to which both of them died on the spot. Confirming the incident, SP Mandi Shalini Agnihotri said that the police is investigating after keeping every aspect in mind.

A case has been registered against the accused woman under sections 317, 304. He will be produced in court on Monday. The police will also interrogate the lover of the woman. As soon as the information was received, the police recovered the bodies of the newborn girls on Sunday morning and the post-mortem of the bodies will be done on Monday. The accused mother has also been arrested. In preliminary investigation, the police found that the accused woman reached Mandi by bus after having an altercation with her lover.

The woman suspected that due to the girls born with her lover, her husband's family would not accept her, due to which the woman carried out the incident on Friday. On the other hand, sensation has spread due to the recovery of the dead body in the Suhra locality in the middle of Mandi city. Pankaj Kumar of Suhra Mohalla, working in a private hospital, was going home after night duty at 9:00 am, when his eyes fell on these girls trapped near the bridge. At first they considered both of them as toys, but when they reached near, they were blown away after seeing the bodies of the newborn girls.

Police reached the accused like this in three hours

Mandi police reached the accused mother who killed the newborn twin daughters by throwing them in the ravine within three hours. According to SP Mandi, a person had come to his office on Saturday with a complaint, in which he had said that his wife had eloped with someone a year ago and has now come back to him and has started living in the house.

She is threatening that if she is taken out of the house, she will commit suicide and will blame her in-laws. The relative accompanying the man also showed a photo in which she appeared to be pregnant. When the bodies of the twin daughters were found in the morning, SP Mandi started questioning the complainant and his wife, then the matter was exposed.
