Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was sworn in as the 15th Chief Minister of the state at 1.50 pm on Sunday afternoon in Himachal. During this, Rahul, Priyanka and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge were also present. Priyanka made Pratibha Singh, who was a contender for the post of Chief Minister, sit next to her. Sukhu greeted the supporters from the stage along with all the Congress MLAs.
Governor Rajendra Vishwanath administered the oath to Sukhu as well as Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri at Ridge Maidan. Earlier in the morning, Sukhu himself came to invite Pratibha Singh for the oath ceremony. Sukhu said- Party is first, Chief Minister later. Pratibha Singh is my idol.

The Congress has won 40 out of 68 seats in the assembly elections and the BJP, which claims to have changed the custom, has been reduced to 25 seats. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was formally declared the Chief Minister in the Legislature Party held in the Assembly on Saturday evening after getting the seal of the High Command.
