Priyanka Chopra: Priyanka Chopra needs no introduction today. This actress, who has made her mark from Bollywood to Hollywood, has achieved the position on her own, which millions of people dream of. But her journey was not easy. Priyanka not only faced the difficulties of the industry in the early phase of her career, but also had to face criticism for her dark complexion and thin body. Overcoming all these obstacles, she not only proved herself, but also made her mark as a global icon. Recently, veteran actress Smita Jaykar made an interesting revelation while remembering Priyanka's early days, in which she told how she judged Priyanka on the basis of her complexion and later regretted her judgment.

Judged Priyanka

In an interview with Filmymantra Media, Smita Jaykar shared her first meeting with Priyanka Chopra and her experience on the sets of the film 'Kismat'. Smita told that when she came to know that Priyanka was going to play the role of her daughter, she was not impressed by seeing her at first sight. In the words of Smita, "When I saw Priyanka for the first time, I thought, 'What kind of people come to become heroines.'" Smita admitted that at that time, seeing Priyanka's dark complexion and thin body, she felt that she was not suitable for the role of a heroine.

Experience of the first meeting

Smita Jaykar further elaborated her statement and said, "I had worked with Priyanka in her early days. In the film 'Kismat', she was playing the character of my and Mohan Joshi's daughter. When I saw her for the first time, she was very thin and dark. I thought, 'Oh God, how do these people become heroines.' At that time she did not look good at all." This statement of Smita reflects the beauty standards of the film industry at that time, where harsh judgments about color and body structure were common.

Regretting the judgement

However, Smita Jaykar also admitted that it was her mistake to judge Priyanka. She said, "When I saw Priyanka later, I regretted my judgement. Priyanka Chopra was fabulous. I was just thinking what has this girl done? She has become a complete diva." Smita emphasised that it is wrong to judge someone on their appearance as luck and hard work can make anyone a star. She praised Priyanka saying, "What an actress she is, brilliant."
