IND vs ENG: The much-awaited five-Test series between India and England is going to start from June 20. This series will not only become a platform for the clash between two cricket giants, but will also start a new era for the Indian team. Shubman Gill is leading the team for the first time as Test captain and it will be interesting to see in which direction he takes the team.

Team India reached England on 6 June

The Indian team reached England on June 6 and since then the players are working hard. All the players are sweating it out in the practice session. All eyes will be on the strategy and combination of Team India under the captaincy of Gill, especially about how he manages the workload of his experienced fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

Gill's answer on Bumrah's role

While talking to Dinesh Karthik in an interview to Sky Sports, Gill made it clear about Bumrah's workload that he will not make any pre-determined plan. He said,

"Everything depends on how we proceed match by match. It can also rain in one match. So we have to see how many overs Bumrah bowled in that match, what is his condition. We cannot decide before the series which match he will play and which he will not."

This statement shows that Gill wants to take the team forward with flexibility with a practical thinking.

Decision on batting order still pending

When Gill was asked about the batting order, he said,

"Right now the team is playing practice matches and after that the team management will decide who will bat at which number."

However, there is a lot of discussion in the cricket world that after Virat Kohli's retirement from Test cricket, Gill can be given the responsibility of number four. This order is considered to be the backbone of India's batting and Gill will have a big responsibility on his shoulders.
