India / IB ministry cracks down on six YouTube channels for spreading fake news

New Delhi : The central government has banned 6 YouTube channels for spreading fake news. These challenges are accused of spreading lies. The PIB Fact Check team had exposed fake news on these YouTube channels, after which the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has decided to ban them. Fact check team of PIB fact checked more than 100 videos of 6 channels earning from fake news and found that all these videos were based on false news.

These channels had collected more than 50 crore views with the help of videos of fake news. According to the information received by the Ministry, these channels with more than 20 lakh combined subscribers had served false news related to the President, Prime Minister, Union Ministers and Election Commission of the country in their videos.

Samvad TV (10.9 lakh subscribers), Nation TV (5.57 lakh subscribers), Samvad Samachar (3.49 lakh subscribers), Sarokar Bharat (21 thousand subscribers), Nation 24 (25 thousand subscribers) and Swarnim Bharat (6 thousand subscribers).

According to PIB Fact Check, a YouTube channel named Samvad TV was using its platform to spread false news against the Government of India and Union Ministers. PIB's Fact Check team has exposed their names by running a campaign against false news.

Samvad TV even claimed in a video that Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia have resigned from their posts. While both these claims are fake. In another video, the channel claimed that Union Minister Anurag Thakur has commented against PM Modi. This video was also found to be fake. Not only this, it was told in a video by Samvad TV that Home Minister Amit Shah has even demanded the removal of PM Modi, which was false news.
