Delhi: Indian captain Virat Kohli moved up one place to fourth in the latest ICC T20 batting rankings released on Wednesday, while vice-captain Rohit Sharma moved up three places to 14th. Kohli scored an unbeaten 80 from 52 balls and played a 94-run partnership with Rohit, playing as an opener in the final match for the T20 series win against England. He has become India's top-ranked player one place ahead of KL Rahul.

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), Rohit moved up three places to 14th in the weekly update thanks to 64 runs from 34 balls in that match. The update comes after the three-match series between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe and the last two matches of the India-England series.

Among the Indian batsmen, Shreyas Iyer also jumped five places to reach a career-best 26th, while Suryakumar Yadav and wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant have also progressed well. Suryakumar Yadav, who made his debut during the second T20 of the series, did not get any points, as he did not get a chance to bat. But after scoring 57 and 32 runs in the last two matches, he moved to 66th place, while Pant climbed 11 places to 69th.

Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar is also ranked 24th in the bowling rankings, up 21 places, while Hardik Pandya is ranked 78th, up 47 places. For England, David Malan retained his top spot in the rankings thanks to his 68-run knock, while Jose Butler moved up one place to 18th.

In the bowlers' list, England leg-spinner Adil Rashid, fast bowler Jofra Archer and Mark Wood have also benefited. In the ODI rankings, Johnny Bairstow moved up four places to a career-best seventh position after scoring 94 runs in the opening match of the series against India in Pune on Tuesday. Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has gained two places from his 98-run match-winning innings, taking him 15th and Bhubaneswar up five places to reach the top-20 rankings in the latest ODI update.
