ICC T20 Ranking / India's clean sweep in the ICC T20 rankings- Same team and player ranked No. 1 in all four categories

India made history in the ICC's new T20 rankings. Indians are ranked No. 1 in all four categories: batters, bowlers, all-rounders, and team. Varun Chakravarthy became the top bowler for the first time, Abhishek Sharma is the top batsman, and Hardik Pandya is the top all-rounder. This is the first time a single team has dominated all categories.

ICC T20 Rankings: The Indian cricket team has created history in the ICC T20 Weekly Rankings released on September 17, 2025. For the first time, a single team and its players have achieved the number-1 position in all four categories of the T20 format—batsman, bowler, all-rounder, and team rankings. This is an unprecedented achievement for Indian cricket.

Varun Chakravarthy: Number-1 Bowler

34-year-old spinner Varun Chakravarthy has achieved the number-1 bowler position in the T20 rankings for the first time. He is the third Indian bowler to achieve this feat. Before him, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravi Bishnoi have achieved this feat. Varun jumped three places in the rankings to surpass New Zealand fast bowler Jacob Duffy.

Varun's performance in the recent Asia Cup was excellent. He took 1 wicket for just 4 runs in 2 overs against the UAE, and 1 wicket for 24 runs in 4 overs against Pakistan. His tight bowling has propelled him to this position.

Abhishek Sharma: Batting Top

Young batsman Abhishek Sharma has retained his career-best ranking in the T20I batting rankings, achieving a career-best rating. He played a useful innings of 31 runs against Pakistan on September 14th. England opener Phil Salt is in second place, while Jos Buttler is in third place. Meanwhile, South Africa's Dewald Brevis has gained two places to reach 11th, and Aiden Markram has jumped 10 places to reach 30th.

Hardik Pandya: Top All-Rounder

Indian star Hardik Pandya holds the top spot in the T20I all-rounder rankings. His all-round ability has kept him in this position. Meanwhile, Pakistan's Saim Ayub has climbed four places to fifth, and Abhishek Sharma has jumped four places to 14th.

The Indian team: The king of T20

The Indian team also tops the T20 team rankings. This is the first time a single country has achieved the number-one position in all four categories of the T20 format. This achievement reflects the depth and talent of Indian cricket.
