Basavaraj Bommai: Former Chief Minister of Karnataka and senior BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai has warned those trying to stop the Ganpati festival in the state. He said that if anyone hurt Hindu sentiments, he would not remain silent. Bommai said that if our Sanatan Dharma is compared to malaria, should we remain silent? Sanatan Dharma flows in our veins.

What did you say about Ganpati Mahotsav?

Addressing the Hindu Jagriti Sammelan held on Saturday at Bankapur in Haveri district, former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai alleged that efforts were being made to stop the Ganpati festival. A statement issued by Bommai's office quoted him as saying, "We belong to the Sanatana Dharma, which propagates the welfare of mankind in this world. Unlike Pakistan or Afghanistan, people of all religions live here.

"When BJP was in power in the state,..."

“Everyone is acceptable here,” Bommai said. This is the beauty of Sanatan Dharma and some people are calling it dengue and malaria. Do they have the courage to compare other religions with these diseases? What will happen if they do this?'' He claimed that when BJP was in power in the state, there was no enemy force that could raise its head.
