Pakistan : The political future of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has almost been decided. The Speaker in the Pakistan National Assembly has rejected the no-confidence motion against Khan. The special thing is that Khan has overcome the challenge of no-confidence for the second time in his tenure. However, this is not the first time the PM has faced mistrust in Pakistan. Let's look at history once...

Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, 1989

In 1989, a no-confidence motion was moved against the then PM Bhutto. However, during that time he had succeeded in winning the trust of the MPs. During that time 125 votes came in Bhutto's account. Whereas, Nawaz Sharif, who brought a no-confidence motion against him, could get only 107 votes. 33 years ago, the government was left with a total of 12 votes.

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, 2006

Nearly 17 years after the no-confidence motion was filed against Benazir Bhutto, another PM in Pakistan had faced this difficulty. Like Bhutto, Aziz was also successful in saving the government in the midst of a no-confidence motion. He got 201 votes during that time. Whereas, 136 votes came in the account of the opposition.

Imran Khan did not face voting on the proposal. Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri rejected the motion stating contrary to Article 5. Although there are still some options open to the opposition, but in the current situation, Khan has saved his government. The special thing is that no PM has completed his term in Pakistan so far. On the other hand, if voting had taken place and Khan would have lost the vote, he would have been the first PM to lose the government through a no-confidence motion.

Now, while the opposition was claiming the support of 175 MPs. At the same time, Khan was constantly indicating that he had more than one way to save the government. He also says that he will face it till the end.
