Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said, 'It is indeed an honor and a pleasure to be present at Murari Bapu's Ram Katha at the University of Cambridge on India's Independence Day. Bapu, I am here today not as a Prime Minister but as a Hindu. During his speech, Sunak recalled a special moment during his tenure as chancellor of lighting diyas outside 11 Downing Street on the occasion of Diwali and said he was proud to have a statue of Lord Ganesha on his desk. '

Rishi Sunak said, Bapu, with your blessings, I am trying to do what our scriptures have suggested for a leader. Your energy inspires. Last week, you visited 12 Jyotirlingas in India and narrated Ram Katha and traveled 12000 kms for this. I kept thinking that I wish I was also present there in that journey.

Recalling his young years, the British PM also said, he is proud to be British and Hindu. He used to visit his neighborhood temple with his siblings and participate in rituals like havan, puja, aarti and prasad distribution with his family. He further said that our values and what I see that Bapu does selfless service, devotion every day in his life. But perhaps the greatest value is duty or service, as we know it.

During the program, Murari Bapu sought the blessings of Lord Hanuman, seeking immense strength to facilitate his dedicated service to the people of Britain. Bapu appreciated Sunak as a person of Indian origin and appreciated his spirit of giving food as prasad to 50-100 volunteers before participating in the event.
