New Delhi : The situation is getting worse after the floods in Pakistan. A third of the neighboring country is in the grip of floods. More than eleven hundred people have died, while a number of people have become homeless. The Shahbaz Sharif government of Pakistan has appealed for help to deal with this crisis. Meanwhile, discussions have also intensified about the resumption of trade between India and Pakistan. The Finance Minister of Pakistan has also indicated this.

At the same time, India believes that Islamabad has the responsibility of resuming trade between India and Pakistan. People familiar with the developments said this was because Pakistan had unilaterally severed trade ties with India in 2019. India too has not yet taken any decision on providing assistance to Pakistan in the wake of devastating floods in the neighboring country, but will consider requests from international agencies regarding shipping assistance through Indian territory, he said.

In fact, Pakistan's Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said earlier this week that Islamabad may consider importing vegetables and food items from India to deal with the crisis caused by the floods. About 33 lakh people have been affected due to floods in the country.

Shahbaz Sharif again chants Kashmir raga

People said that it has not been right for Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to comment on India. In which Sharif had presented the issue of starting trade with India directly by connecting it to Jammu and Kashmir. Sharif had said that there will be no problem in doing business with India but there is genocide going on and Kashmiris have been denied their rights. Sharif further said that he is ready to sit and talk with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Islamabad's responsibility to start business

One of the people familiar with the developments said, "There have been all-round vicissitudes from Pakistan side on the issue of trade and what do you expect us to do when it is linked to the issue of Kashmir?" In 2019, Pakistan had unilaterally suspended trade with India in response to the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. In such a situation, the responsibility of resuming business is also on Pakistan.
