Coronavirus : Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the G20 summit in Rome on Saturday that India is ready to produce five billion doses of the Covid-19 vaccine by the end of next year. He made this remark while underlining India's contribution in the fight against Kovid-19. Briefing the media about Prime Minister Modi's programs, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said that Prime Minister Modi also emphasized on facilitating international travel and stressed on creating a system of mutually valid recognition of immunization certificates, for which this arrangement Has been done.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi underlined that a decision by the World Health Organization (WHO) to authorize India-developed covaccine for emergency use is pending and suggested that by approving it, India could help other countries. The UN health body's technical advisory group is scheduled to meet on November 3 to make a final 'hazard-benefit assessment' to notify the vaccine for emergency use. It is noteworthy that Covaccine developed by Bharat Biotech and Covishield prepared by AstraZeneca and Oxford University are being used extensively in India.

PM Modi also underlined the medical supplies made to 150 countries during the pandemic and India's contribution in maintaining the global supply chain. Shringla said Modi made the remarks while intervening in the 'Global Economy and Global Health' session organized under the G-20 meeting.

Stressing on the need for a resilient global supply chain, Modi spoke on India's bold economic recovery and invited G20 countries to partner India for economic growth and supply chain diversification. Shringla said that Modi presented the vision of 'One Earth, One Health' in the backdrop of fighting the pandemic and future global health problems.
