Cricket | The President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Sachin Jay Shah has said that a decision on whether the Asia Cup 2023 will be held in Pakistan or not can be taken in the coming time. Significantly, the Asia Cup 2023 will be hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and according to the Future Tour Program, it is to be played in Pakistan. This was discussed in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BCCI.

It was announced at the BCCI AGM that Roger Binny is taking over the post of BCCI President in place of Sourav Ganguly. The BCCI has decided that Team India will not go to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup and in such a situation, this tournament should be shifted to the neutral venue. According to the news of Cricbuzz, Jay Shah said, "With regard to the venue of the Asia Cup, we have decided that Team India will not go to Pakistan."

The Indian cricket team has not visited Pakistan since 2008. The Indian team last went to Pakistan for the 2008 Asia Cup. The bilateral series has not been played for a long time due to poor political relations between the two countries. Matches between India and Pakistan are played only during ICC tournaments and Asia Cup.
