India / Indian Railways to run 6th Vande Bharat express on Secunderabad to Vijayawada route from new year 2023

Vande Bharat Express: Continuous work is being done on passenger facilities by the Indian Railways. In the past, PM Modi had announced to connect 75 cities of the country by the semi-high speed train Vande Bharat Express by August 2023. Till now Vande Bharat train has been started on five routes in the country. Now the Railways is preparing to start the Vande Bharat Express train on the new route. This will be the sixth Vande Bharat train of the country and will run between Secunderabad (Telangana) to Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) railway station.

Date will be announced soon

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said earlier also to operate Vande Bharat train on this route. According to media reports, Vande Bharat, which runs between Secunderabad and Vijayawada, will be started on the new year. However, no decision has been taken regarding its date yet. The date will be announced after the upgradation of the track is completed by the railway officials.

Railway Minister showed 'green signal' on the route

It is also expected that Vande Bharat traveling from Secunderabad to Vijaywada will reach the destination via Kazipet Junction. With the start of this train, Vande Bharat will start on another route in South India. The first Vande Bharat flight in South India was run from Chennai to Mysore in November. According to the report, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has shown the green signal regarding this route.

Senior BJP leader and Union Minister G Krishnan Reddy wishes that PM Modi should flag off the Secunderabad-Vijayawada train. Reddy is currently the Lok Sabha MP from Secunderabad. Sources also claim that the Railways is planning to extend the Secunderabad-Vijayawada route up to Visakhapatnam and it could be completed by February 2023.
