The match between RCB and KKR is being played in IPL-2021 Phase-2 today. The match started with RCB winning the toss and electing to bat first. RCB's team could only score 92 runs and were all-out. Kolkata had a target of 93 runs, which the team achieved in the first 10 overs at the loss of just one wicket. In the team's victory, Shubman Gill scored 48 off 34 balls and IPL debutant Venkatesh Iyer played an unbeaten innings of 41 runs off 27 balls.

Chasing the target, this was KKR's biggest win against Bengaluru. Earlier in 2011, while chasing a target of 171 runs, KKR defeated Bengaluru by 9 wickets (in 17.3 overs). Today Kolkata team managed to win the match in just 10 overs.

Third poor performance against KKR

RCB could only score 92 runs in the match today. This was Kohli & Co.'s third worst performance against Kolkata. Earlier in 2017 Bengaluru had scored 49 against KKR and in 2008 Bengaluru were all-out for 82 against KKR.

Kohli disappointed

Virat Kohli was dismissed after scoring 5 runs in 4 balls. The famous Krishna showed Kohli the way out of the field by getting him out LBW. Although Virat used the DRS, he was found in front of the stumps and returned to the pavilion after scoring just 5 runs in his 200th match.

Devdutt Padikkal also failed to play a big innings and scored 22 runs and was caught behind the wicket by Lockie Ferguson to Dinesh Karthik.

In the match, middle-order batsman Venkatesh Iyer for KKR and all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga for RCB and wicket-keeper batsman Srikar India got an opportunity to make their IPL debut.

Virat Kohli's Achievement

RCB captain Virat Kohli is playing his 200th match in IPL today. Virat has become the first player to play 200 IPL matches for any one team. Although overall he is the fifth player to reach this milestone. Before him, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina have played 200 matches in the IPL.

Dinesh Karthik's magic works after the 13th over

Former team captain Dinesh Karthik is a very important member of KKR's team. However, sending him to bat in the beginning is not much beneficial for the team. Since the 2020 season, whenever Karthik has come out to bat before the 13th over, he has averaged only 12.5 and strike rate of 116. At the same time, when he comes to bat after the 13th over, his average becomes 104. The strike rate also increases to 171.

Abby's storm comes in the death overs

AB de Villiers is considered one of the most destructive batsmen in the world, but he changed his stance in Phase-1 of the 2021 season. He played cautiously in the beginning and batted stormy in the death overs. His strike rate in the middle order was just 92. At the same time, in the death overs, he has batted with a strike rate of 243. AB can bat again with the same approach.
