The company's revenue has more than doubled to $20 billion (about Rs 1.7 lakh crore) in FY 2024-25. The increase in iPhone production and efforts to make India a global manufacturing hub are a major contributor to this impressive growth.

According to sources, Foxconn has made significant progress not only in terms of revenue but also in the field of human resources. The company's workforce in India has grown by 65 per cent to around 80,000. Although Foxconn has refused to give any official response in this regard, industry sources consider this development as a positive sign for the Indian electronics sector.

Expansion of iPhone production in India

Foxconn, known for manufacturing Apple's iconic iPhone, has significantly increased its manufacturing capabilities in India. As part of Apple's strategy to make India an important manufacturing hub, iPhone production has been accelerated. This resulted in smartphone exports from India crossing an all-time high of Rs 2 lakh crore in 2024-25, with iPhone contributing Rs 1.5 lakh crore.

Devanahalli plant: 40 thousand jobs expected

Foxconn is going to deepen its investment in India. The company is setting up a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit in Devanahalli, Karnataka with an investment of $2.8 billion (about Rs 25,000 crore). This unit will be Foxconn's second largest production unit outside China and is expected to generate more than 40,000 jobs.

In addition, Foxconn is in talks with the state government to set up a new electronic manufacturing unit in Uttar Pradesh. This move can further empower India's campaigns like 'Make in India' and 'Digital India'.

This success of Foxconn indicates a big leap in the Indian manufacturing sector. While China was once considered the hub of global electronics manufacturing, India is now emerging as a reliable option for global companies.
