Madras Highcourt / IPS officer jailed for 15 days in case related to Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Madras Highcourt: Former Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni always remains in the headlines. This time MS Dhoni is in the news regarding a court related case. An IPS officer had made some allegations against Dhoni, regarding which MS had approached the court and now the court has sentenced that officer to jail. According to Bar & Bench report, Madras High Court on Friday sentenced IPS officer Sampath Kumar to 15 days in jail. This punishment has been given on charges of contempt of court. However, the officer will not be jailed immediately as the court has given him 30 days to file his reply.

In which case has the punishment been given?

Actually, MS Dhoni had filed a petition before the Madras High Court. In which he had talked about making false allegations against a media channel, an officer and some other people. Dhoni was accused of dragging his name in the case related to fixing of IPL 2013.

The former captain of Team India had appealed in the court that no one should make further baseless allegations against him in this matter, the court had also passed a similar order. After which everyone except the IPS officer accepted the court's order. Now again the court was informed by Dhoni's team that the officers are still making wrong allegations in that case, after which this decision has now come out.

Dhoni will be seen for the last time in IPL!

Let us tell you that former Indian team captain MS Dhoni has taken retirement from international cricket in the year 2020 itself. He can be seen in the field for the last time in IPL 2024. MS Dhoni had a knee problem during the last season but it is expected that he will be in the field this time also. Recently, all the IPL teams had released the retainer list of players, in which MS Dhoni was also retained.
