What is the threat to India from the proximity of Maldives and China?

Due to the latest dispute with India, the closeness between Maldives and China has started increasing. Recently Mohammad Muizzu visited China and after meeting President Xi Jinping, both the countries signed 20 agreements including travel and maritime economy.

India is most at risk from deeper relations between the two countries. China now wants to build its military base in Maldives, which will pose a threat to India's security. On the other hand, now the Maldives government has given the Indian government a deadline for the withdrawal of Indian troops from Maldives. The Maldives government believes that the presence of Indian troops in the country is a threat to national security and sovereignty. If the Indian Army returns from Maldives, China's efforts to build a military base will directly benefit from it. There are 88 Indian soldiers in Maldives.

Muizzu attacked India as soon as he returned from China
