The government has strongly raised the issue of wrong map of India on the website of World Health Organization i.e. WHO. In fact, the wrong map of India was shown on the WHO's Kovid dashboard. In this, Jammu and Kashmir of India has been shown as Pakistan and Arunachal Pradesh as part of China. The Government of India has objected to the WHO on this matter and has also given a statement in Parliament. Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said that we raised this issue with WHO and expressed our objection.

However, WHO has issued a disclaimer on India's objection. V Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs, in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, said, "The issue of incorrect depiction of the map of India on the WHO website has been vigorously taken up with the WHO. In response, the WHO referred India's Permanent Mission to Geneva. Informed that they have put a disclaimer on the portal." The Minister said that the Government of India has always been clear about its boundaries and the WHO also categorically reiterates the position of the Government of India on the correct delineation of borders.

What is WHO's disclaimer on the wrong map of India

Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said, "The issue of misrepresentation of the map of India on the World Health Organization (WHO) website has been vigorously taken up with the WHO, including at the highest level. In response, the WHO called on India's Permanent Mission in Geneva. We have informed that they have put up a disclaimer on the portal, which states that "the presentation of this material does not imply the expression of any opinion on the part of the World Health Organization officials or the organization. The approximate boundary lines are shown on the map with the help of dots and lines. on which a complete consensus has not yet been reached."

TMC MP writes letter to PM Modi

Trinamool MP Dr Shantanu Sen wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the World Health Organization is showing a wrong map of India. The MP wrote, "When I clicked on the WHO Covid19.int site, a world map showed up, and when I zoomed in on the part of India, it's amazingly two different colors for Jammu and Kashmir. A blue map was showing." He said that when he clicked on the blue part, the map was showing him the data of India, but the other part was showing the data of Pakistan.
