He scored an unbeaten 175 in the Mohali Test. Now Jadeja has become the highest run-scorer for India at number seven. He has broken Kapil Dev's 36-year-old record. Kapil Dev scored 163 runs against Sri Lanka at number seven in Kanpur in 1986.

Jadeja scored the second century of his Test career in this match. In this match he made the biggest score of his Test career. Jadeja hit 17 fours and three sixes in this innings.

Ashwin and Jadeja form century partnership for the first time

Ashwin and Jadeja have batted together 15 times in Test cricket, but this was only the second time that the two shared a partnership of more than 50 runs. In this match, both the batsmen shared 130 runs for the seventh wicket. Earlier in 2016, the pair had added 97 runs against England. This partnership was also for the seventh wicket.
