Education / JEE Advanced 2021 exam for admission to IITs to be held on October 3: Govt

New Delhi: Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Advanced, 2021 examination will be held on October 3, 2021. The exam date has been announced by Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan. IIT Kharagpur has taken responsibility for conducting JEE Advance under the guidance of the Joint Examination Board, JAB 2021. 

The exam will be held by adhering to appropriate COVID-19 protocols. The examination was postponed recently due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Candidates willing to know more about the examination details should keep a check on the official website-jeeadv.nic.in.

The examination was earlier postponed on June 25, 2021, due to the prevailing COVID-19 scenario in the country. IIT Kharagpur came up with a three-member committee for the smooth and proper conduct of JEE Advanced Exam. 

JEE Advanced Examination was earlier postponed to July 3, 2021. IIT Kharagpur also released an information brochure. Candidates were advised to go through the information brochure. JEE Advanced exam consists of two papers. Both of them are of three hours duration. For candidates appearing for the examination, it is compulsory for them to appear in both examinations.

Candidates cannot attend the examination more than two times a year. JEE Advanced Exam 2021, online registration began on September 5, 2020. This year, more than 1,60,000 candidates registered for JEE advanced.

Keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic, Education Miniter Dharmendra Pradhan had announced in January 2021 that candidates will no longer have to have a minimum of 75% marks in their board examinations. The decision was taken to reduce the academic burden of students amid the ongoing pandemic. It will also allow more candidates to appear for the examination.
