Cricket | The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Thursday appointed Jos Buttler as the new captain of England's limited overs teams. Jos Buttler will now be the captain of England's ODI and T20 team after Eoin Morgan retires from international cricket. The 31-year-old Buttler has captained England in nine ODIs and five T20Is.

Eoin Morgan, England's most successful limited overs captain, retired from international cricket earlier this week. Butler has been an integral part of England's white-ball teams for over a decade. He made his T20I debut in 2011 and played his first match for the Three Lions in the 50-over format the following year.

England batsman Jos Buttler has been the vice-captain of the team since 2015 and has also led the team in 14 matches. The wicketkeeper-batsman has played 151 ODIs for England. He has scored 4120 runs at an average of 41.20. During this, he has also scored 10 centuries. He has also played 88 T20 matches for England. He has scored 2140 runs at a strike-rate of 141.20.

Jos Buttler is one of only three England cricketers to have scored a century in every format of the game. David Malan and Heather Knight are the other two England cricketers to have achieved this feat.
