The Kartarpur Sahib Corridor is being re-opened from Wednesday i.e. today to reach the most revered pilgrimage sites of Sikhs located in Pakistan. This corridor was inaugurated in the year 2019 but now devotees will have to follow some rules to undertake this journey, for example, only those people can go to Pakistan, who have taken both the doses of corona vaccine. The Kartarpur Sahib Corridor connects Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan with Dera Baba Nanak, the holy shrine of Sikhs in Gurdaspur, India. The Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara is also important to the Sikhs because in this Gurdwara their Guru Nanak Dev spent the last years of his life and died.

Although, this corridor was opened in the year 2019 itself but within just four months it was closed in March 2020 due to Corona. Now this shrine is being reopened once again after about one and a half years. The Government of India made an announcement in this regard on Tuesday. Let us inform that on November 19, the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, which is celebrated as Prakash Parv.

According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government of India has decided to start this journey once again in view of the improvement in the situation of Corona.

Under this, about 100-200 pilgrims from India can reach Pakistan through the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor every day. The administration of both India and Pakistan will check the list of pilgrims on daily basis. However, maximum number of devotees are expected to join the corridor only on November 19. Kovid rules for devotees

On the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, devotees will have to undergo a sanitization process along with getting the temperature checked. At the same time, wearing masks and social distancing will also have to be taken care of. All devotees will have to carry negative RT-PCR report, which should not be more than 72 hours old. Certificate of corona vaccination is also mandatory.
