Amritpal Singh: Fugitive Khalistani supporter Amritpal Singh has surrendered before the Moga police. Amritpal Singh was absconding since the Ajnala incident. During the last one month, the Punjab Police had conducted raids at many places to nab Amritpal Singh, but he could not be traced. According to sources, Amritpal Singh will be sent to Dibrugarh Jail in Assam. This is the same jail where many of his colleagues have also been kept. Many serious cases like obstructing government action, inciting peace have been registered against Amritpal Singh. It is being told that Amritpal Singh surrendered in front of Moga police late on Saturday night.

Before the surrender of Amritpal Singh, the police had arrested his close aide Pappalpreet Singh on 10 April. Pappalpreet was the person who stayed with Amritpal Singh during the absconding. Pappalpreet has also been arrested and shifted to Assam jail. Action has been taken against the arrested associates of Amritpal Singh under the National Security Act UAPA.

An alert was issued in several states to arrest Amritpal Singh, who was absconding since March 18. Even the Nepal Police had put him on their surveillance list. Because news had come in the middle that Amritpal was in the process of fleeing to Pakistan via Nepal.
