birth story of ganesh ji

According to Shiv Purana, Ganesh ji was born from the rubbish of Mother Parvati. Devi Mata was once applying turmeric paste. After some time, he took off the rubbish and made an effigy. After that put life in that effigy. This is how Lord Ganesha was born. Mother Parvati made Lambodar sit at the door and said that do not let anyone inside. After sometime Mahadev came and started going home. Lord Ganesha stopped him on this. Enraged by this, Lord Shiva cut off the neck of Ganapati with his trident.

When Mother Parvati saw Ganapati's condition, she started lamenting and said to Mahadev that why did you cut off my son's head. On asking Bholenath, Mother Parvati told the whole thing and asked to bring back the son's head. Then Bholenath said that I will put my life in this but the head will be needed. Then Bholenath said that O Garuda, you go towards the north and bring the head of the mother who is lying with her back towards her son. Garuda wandered for a long time. At the last moment an elephant was found which was sleeping with its back towards its child. Garuda brought the child's head. Lord Bholenath attached that head to the body of Ganesha and put his life in it.

Birth story of Ganesh ji - 2

According to the legend, once Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati were sitting on the banks of river Narmada. Mata Parvati asked Lord Shiva to play Chaupad there. Lord Shiva also agreed to play this game. But it was not understood who would decide whether to win or lose in this game, so Lord Shiva gathered some three and made an effigy and put life in it. As soon as he died, the effigy became a child. The same boy had to decide the game.

Now Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati started the game of Chaupad. The game of four was played three times. Mother Parvati won every time, but that child created by Lord Shiva told Lord Shiva to be victorious. On hearing this, Mother Parvati became very angry and in anger, she cursed the child to be lame and to be lying in the mud in the mud. The boy apologized a lot to Mother Parvati. After repeatedly asking for forgiveness from the child, Mother Parvati told that child that Naga Kanya would come here for Ganesh worship, according to her, you should keep the fast of Lord Ganesha with full devotion. With the effect of this fast, you will be free from this curse.

After a year, Nagkanya came to that place. Then that child asked the Naga girls the law and order of Ganapati Bappa's fast. According to him, that child observed Bappa's fast till 21 Chaturthi. Seeing the devotion of the child, Ganpati Bappa was very pleased and he asked that child to ask for the desired boon. Then where did that child ask Siddhivinayak, 'O Lord, give me so much strength that I can walk on my feet and go to Mount Kailash with my parents. Then Bappa said aastu.

After saying the praises of Lord Shri Ganesh, the child reached Mount Kailash with his parents. There he told the whole story of his recovery to Lord Shiva. After listening to the child, Lord Shiva also kept a fast on 21 Chaturthi to please Mother Parvati. Mother Parvati was also pleased with the effect of the fast. After this Lord Shiva told Mata Parvati the full glory of this fast. Hearing this, Mother Parvati's strong desire to meet her eldest son Karthik arose in her mind.

Then Mother Parvati also kept a fast on 21 Chaturthi. Due to the effect of this fast, Lord Kartikeya himself came to meet Mother Parvati. Since then this fast has become famous in the world and it is considered as the fulfillment of every wish. It is said that if a person observes 21 Chaturthi fast with full devotion, then Bappa definitely fulfills his every wish.
