Kolkata Knight Riders' hopes of reaching the play-offs of IPL 2022 remain intact. KKR defeated Mumbai Indians by 52 runs in the match played on Monday. Batting first after losing the toss, KKR scored 165 for 9 in 20 overs. Jasprit Bumrah gave his best performance in IPL, taking five wickets for 10 runs.

However, the Mumbai batsmen sabotaged his hard work. The entire team was all out after scoring 113 runs in 17.3 overs. Ishan Kishan scored the highest 51 runs. No other batsman could even score 20 runs.

After this result, KKR have 10 points from 12 matches and have reached number seven in the table. To reach the play-offs, Kolkata will have to win both their last matches as well as keep themselves ahead in terms of net run rate. Mumbai's team is already out of competition. The team is 10th and last with 4 points from 11 matches with just 2 wins.

Bumrah was seen in color for the first time this season

Bumrah took the wickets of Andre Russell, Nitish Rana, Sheldon Jackson, Pat Cummins and Sunil Narine. He took two wickets in his second over and three in his third over. The third over was also maiden. In his fourth and last over of the innings, this Mumbai fast bowler gave only 1 run.

Kolkata got the best opening partnership of the season

Elected to bat after losing the toss, Kolkata got off to a good start. Iyer and Rahane added 60 runs in the first wicket partnership. This is the biggest opening partnership from KKR this season. The previous record was 43 runs. Venkatesh and Rahane had achieved this feat in the first match against Chennai on 26 March.

Shreyas's team had scored 136 runs for 3 wickets

Kolkata Knight Riders scored 136 runs in 14 overs for the loss of three wickets. Then it seemed that the team could touch the 200-run mark. But, after this Bumrah broke into the team as havoc. He showed the way to the pavilion to Andre Russell on the second ball of the 15th over and Nitish Rana on the fifth ball. Bumrah, who came to bowl again in the 18th over, took the wickets of Jackson, Cummins and Narine. Bumrah was once on a hat-trick though he could not achieve it.
