Imran Khan News: The Lahore High Court will hear the case related to the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President and former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case. For this, the court has constituted a bench. It will be headed by a three-judge bench comprising Justice Bhatti, Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh and Justice Sajid Mehmood Sethi.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of the High Court Muhammad Ameer Bhatti will hear the matter on January 9. Earlier, the Lahore High Court had asked to set up a larger bench to hear the petition against the disqualification of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case. It has been said in the petition that the Election Commission of Pakistan is not a court and it cannot disqualify anyone.

Election Commission had disqualified

In fact, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has disqualified Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case. The ECP had said that by continuing to head the PTI, Khan was violating laws. The first petition, filed by advocate Mohammad Afaq, states that the ECP had disqualified the former prime minister and removed him from the NA-95 constituency of Mianwali on charges of corrupt practices. On this matter, on November 11, Justice Sethi had proposed the formation of a larger bench on petitions.
