Mumbai: There has been a slight reduction in new cases of corona in Maharashtra, but still more than 40 thousand new cases are coming every day. In view of this, the Uddhav Thackeray government of Maharashtra may extend the lockdown for 15 days.

After the cabinet meeting, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said, "In the meeting, the Health Department and the ministers advised to extend the lockdown for 15 days." Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will take a final decision on this.

Explain that due to the increasing cases of Kovid-19, the Maharashtra government had announced a ban on April 4 by 30 April. After this it was extended. During the ban like lockdown, there is a ban on the movement of common people except those connected to the essential service. Private offices, salons, theaters are closed. The state government has decided to open grocery, vegetable shops and dairies for only four hours from seven in the morning to 11 in the morning.

According to the data released by the Maharashtra Health Department on Wednesday evening, seven, 46,781 people have been infected with corona in the state in the last 24 hours and 816 patients have died. In the same time, 58,805 patients have been recovered. Currently, 5,46,129 people are being treated in the state. So far 52,26,710 people have been infected and 78,007 patients have died.

Vaccination campaign stopped for 18-44 age group

Due to the lack of Corona vaccine, the Maharashtra government has decided to temporarily halt the vaccination campaign for people in the 18 to 44 age group and use the available doses of the vaccine for a group of over 45 years. This decision was taken during the cabinet meeting.
