In a major reshuffle in the bureaucracy, the Rajasthan government on Monday transferred 239 officers of the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS). The State Personnel Department issued an order in this regard on Monday night. The names of RAS officers who have been transferred include Kajodmal Dundia, Lekhraj Tosawada, Pukhraj Sen and Mukul Sharma.

The state government has suspended Rajgarh Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Keshav Kumar Meena. Along with this, the chairman of Rajgarh Municipal Board, Satish Duharia and executive officer of Nagar Panchayat Banwari Lal Meena have also been suspended. It is noteworthy that during the recent anti-encroachment drive in Rajgarh municipal area, there was a dispute over the demolition of houses, shops and a temple.

While the opposition BJP is targeting the state government for doing politics of appeasement to a community, the Congress claimed that the decision to remove the encroachment drive was taken by the BJP board in Rajgarh municipality. According to the order of the Personnel Department, all the officers have been asked to join the new posting with immediate effect and submit a report on taking charge.
