Churu Incident: Suspicious Drone Falls in Sardarshahar House, Police Seize Device

A suspicious drone crashed into a residential house in Ward-35 of Sardarshahar, Churu, on Saturday night, causing panic among the occupants. Local police arrived promptly and seized the device. Preliminary reports suggest a technical failure in a wedding photography drone led to the incident.

A wave of panic spread through Ward-35 of Sardarshahar in Churu district on Saturday night when a suspicious drone suddenly fell from the sky into the courtyard of a residential building. At the time of the incident, only women were present in the house, who were left startled by the sudden crash. According to local residents, the sound of the impact drew neighbors to the spot. Given the suspicious nature of the object, the local police were immediately informed, following which a team arrived to secure the area and take the device into custody.

Details of the Incident and Resident Reaction

The incident occurred at the residence of a local individual named Mehboob in Ward-35. Mehboob stated that the women living as tenants in his house contacted him via phone to report that a suspicious object had fallen into the courtyard from the sky. The women described a loud noise followed by the appearance of the device, which caused significant distress. Mehboob advised them to cover the object with a cloth for safety and immediately informed a neighbor, who then alerted the Sardarshahar police station about the occurrence.

Police Intervention and Seizure of the Device

Upon receiving the information, a team from the Sardarshahar police station reached the spot. Officers inspected the premises and seized the drone camera. According to police officials, no injuries or property damage were reported due to the fall. The drone was safely transported to the police station for further investigation. Authorities mentioned that technical experts are being consulted to determine the cause of the crash and to identify the owner of the device. The residents expressed relief only after the police took the equipment into their possession.

Preliminary Findings and Technical Failure Suspected

Based on the initial inspection, the police believe the device is a standard drone camera commonly used for photography and videography at weddings and public events, while officials stated that, prima facie, it appears the drone lost its connection with the remote control or suffered a battery-related technical glitch, causing it to spiral out of control and fall. However, the police are also investigating whether the drone was being operated with the necessary legal permissions. Efforts are underway to pinpoint the exact location from where the drone was being operated at the time of the crash.

Drone Regulations and Administrative Concerns

The use of drones has seen a significant rise in Sardarshahar and surrounding areas, particularly during the wedding season. Police administration noted that drones are often flown in residential areas without prior permission or adherence to safety protocols. According to the guidelines set by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), operating drones requires compliance with specific safety standards. The police emphasized that flying drones without authorization and posing a security risk can lead to legal action. This incident has highlighted the potential hazards of unregulated drone usage in urban settings.

Search for the Owner and Further Investigation

Currently, the Sardarshahar police are working to identify the actual owner of the drone using its serial number and other technical specifications. Inquiries have been initiated with local photographers and event organizers to determine who was operating drones in the vicinity on Saturday night. Authorities stated that once the owner is identified, it will be clear whether the drone was being used for a legitimate purpose and if the operator held a valid license, while the police have urged citizens to immediately report any such suspicious objects to the administration rather than handling them personally.
