Rawatbhata Nuclear City: 3-Hour Mega Mock Drill Today, 5-Minute Total Blackout Scheduled

Rawatbhata, situated on the banks of the Chambal River in the Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan and widely recognized as the 'Nuclear City', is set to undergo a significant security exercise today. On Wednesday, a 3-hour mega mock drill has been scheduled to evaluate and strengthen the city's defense and emergency response mechanisms. The administration will place the entire city on alert mode from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM to simulate responses to critical scenarios such as potential air strikes and hazardous gas leaks. This exercise is designed to ensure that security agencies are fully prepared and that the city remains secure during any major crisis.

Hourly Sirens and Total Blackout Protocol

During this specialized exercise, sirens will be sounded every hour between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM to alert the residents. The most critical phase of the drill is scheduled for 8:00 PM, when a total blackout will be implemented across Rawatbhata for a duration of 5 minutes. The electricity department has finalized all necessary arrangements for this procedure. During these five minutes, the entire city's power supply will be disconnected to practice securing the area through darkness, simulating a tactical response to an aerial threat.

Deployment of NDRF, SDRF, and CISF Teams

Specialized maneuvers will be conducted at highly sensitive locations, including the Heavy Water Plant, the NTC Gate, and the Rana Pratap Sagar Dam. To manage the operations, teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will be stationed at the front lines. Plus, expert teams have been summoned from Kota to bolster the preparations. these teams will rigorously test every potential threat scenario, ranging from chemical gas leaks to simulated air strikes.

Emergency Alerts and Communication Systems

The administration has also activated an advanced communication network to ensure the rapid dissemination of information, while as soon as an emergency is declared during the drill, a special alert message will be broadcast to all mobile subscribers via BSNL. The primary objective of this mega drill is to create an impenetrable security shield and enhance coordination between various government departments during emergencies, while the administration has appealed for full cooperation from the citizens to ensure the successful completion of this large-scale security test.
