A heart-wrenching road accident occurred today in the hills of Pushkar, a famous pilgrimage site located in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan. A private bus traveling from Pisangan towards Pushkar went out of control and plunged into a gorge approximately 150 feet deep. In this painful accident, two people, including an innocent child, died on the spot, while dozens of passengers on board were left bloodied and injured.
Details of the Fatal Accident
According to the information received, a total of 31 passengers were on board the private bus. As soon as the bus reached the dangerous and winding road of the Pushkar Valley, the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle. Due to the loss of balance on the slope and sharp turn, the bus fell directly into the gorge, while immediately after the fall, cries for help echoed through the hills, creating a scene of chaos.
Rescue Operations and Emergency Response
Hearing the sound of the accident, passersby and local residents immediately rushed towards the gorge to help. Upon receiving the information, the Pushkar police team also reached the spot. The rescue operation was quite challenging because the gorge was very deep and the terrain was difficult. After strenuous efforts, the police and villagers pulled the injured out of the bus and transported them to the Pushkar Community Health Center via ambulance.
Medical Status of the Victims
The condition of several injured passengers remains critical, while after receiving primary treatment, more than 5 seriously injured passengers have been referred to the Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Hospital in Ajmer. According to doctors, the next 24 hours are extremely critical for many of the passengers. Treatment is ongoing, and the administration is monitoring the situation closely.
Investigation into the Cause of the Accident
The police have taken the bus into custody and initiated an investigation. Initially, two major possibilities for the accident are being considered. According to the police, either the brakes of the bus failed while descending the valley, or there was significant negligence on the part of the driver. Police are currently recording the statements of the passengers to ascertain the actual cause of the incident.
