Jaipur: Man Kills Wife and Daughter Over Low Salary Taunts

A shocking double murder has come to light in the Dudu area of Jaipur district, Rajasthan, where a man allegedly killed his wife and 8-year-old daughter following a domestic altercation. According to police officials, the accused attacked his wife with a sword and subsequently strangled his minor daughter. After committing the crime, the man walked to the local police station to surrender and confess to the killings. According to the information provided by the Jaipur police, the incident occurred late at night in the jurisdiction of the Dudu police station. The accused has been identified as Surjit Singh. Following a heated argument with his wife, Surjit allegedly retrieved a sword kept in the house and attacked her while she was in their room. The victim sustained fatal injuries to her neck and died on the spot. The couple's 8-year-old daughter, who was sleeping nearby, woke up during the commotion. Seeing her mother in a pool of blood, she began to scream, prompting the accused to strangle her to death to silence her.

During the initial interrogation, the accused revealed that the primary motive behind the crime was persistent domestic discord over financial issues. Surjit claimed that his wife frequently taunted him about his low salary and blamed him for the family's economic hardships, while he stated that these constant taunts had caused him significant mental distress. On the night of the incident, a similar argument broke out, which escalated into violence. The accused reportedly sat beside the bodies for several hours before deciding to inform the authorities.
