Bhopal: A man allegedly raped an 8-year-old girl inside a garbage vat in Bhopal and gave her Rs 5, asking her to stay mum about the incident. The incident took place in Ayodhya Nagar, Bhopal on Saturday afternoon. The accused is around the age of the minor girl's father. The survivor claimed that she saw the accused a few times in the past while playing near her home. The accused was identified with the help of the 8-year-old girl. Accused asked survivor to get tobacco for him On the day of the incident, the girl was playing near her home when the accused allegedly approached her. The accused gave Rs 100 to the 8-year-old girl and asked her to get a tobacco pouch from a nearby shop. The girl bought the tobacco but when she returned to give the pouch to the man, he allegedly asked her to give it to another man standing next to a garbage vat, The Times of India reported. When the child went towards the vat, the accused dragged her inside and allegedly raped her. Accused gave Rs 5 to survivor in exchange for her silenceFollowing this, the man gave Rs 5 to the girl and asked her not to tell anyone about the incident. The survivor, however, returned home and narrated her ordeal. After learning about the incident, the police formed 8 teams and photographed around 40 people who visited the area. The survivor picked one of the photographs and identified him. Ravi was nabbed from a liquor shop on Saturday night. Ravi was allegedly trying to flee to Gujarat when he was arrested. He was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
