Bihar Politics: Before the floor test of Nitish Kumar's new government, Santosh Suman, son of Hindustan Awam Morcha (Hum) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi, has finally taken charge. This is a matter of relief for the Nitish government, because Manjhi was said to be angry at getting only one ministry. While demanding two seats in Nitish's cabinet, Manjhi has said that one roti does not fill the stomach. Santosh Suman had not even assumed charge in his department yet.

Santosh Suman has also taken charge in SC-ST and IT department. Bihar BJP President and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary had said that Manjhi will be convinced. The entire issue will be resolved through talks. Let us tell you that Manjhi has been demanding 2 ministers. He had said on Monday that I come from the village. The city has nothing to do with me. I have been working for 43 years. People expect me to do some work. If I get a ministry, more work can be done.

He had further said that it does not feel good that I keep looking after the same department all the time….It comes to our mind that our society is being ignored deliberately. This is not a rivalry. Because of this there is no difference between giving and taking support. However, Manjhi also said that we are and will remain with Nitish Kumar and NDA. We will strongly support NDA in the floor test to be held on 12th February.

Manjhi also had the same ministry

On January 28, a new government was formed in Bihar under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. He returned to NDA and took oath as CM for the 9th time. Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha became deputy CMs from BJP. 5 other ministers also took oath. We have 4 MLAs and Santosh Suman was made minister. He was given the department of Information Technology and SC-ST Welfare. Even when Santosh Suman was a minister in the Grand Alliance government, he was given the SC-ST welfare department. Apart from this, when Jitan Ram Manjhi himself was a minister in the Bihar government, he also had the same ministry.

The newly formed NDA government in Bihar under the leadership of Nitish Kumar will try to get the trust vote in the Assembly on February 12. The budget session of the State Assembly will begin from this day. The NDA alliance has 128 MLAs while the opposition Grand Alliance has 114 MLAs.
