Major accident in Andhra Pradesh / Massive fire after explosion in chemical factory, six killed, 12 injured

Six people died and 12 were injured after a fire broke out at a chemical factory at Akkireddygudem in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday night. It is being told that this incident happened after the leakage of nitric acid monomethyl. The condition of many of the injured remains critical. The seriously injured people have been referred to Vijayawada for better treatment. According to locals, a blast took place in Unit 4 of Porus Industry at around 10 pm, after which a massive fire broke out. About 150 people were working in the factory at that time.

CM announces compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the kin of the deceased

Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh to the next of kin of the dead, Rs 5 lakh to the seriously injured and Rs 2 lakh to those with minor injuries.
