In a significant political development ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati has announced a major restructuring of the party's leadership hierarchy. The BSP chief has made a decisive declaration regarding the involvement of her brother Anand Kumar's family members in the party's affairs. Mayawati has officially stated that from now on, only Ishan Anand, the son of Anand Kumar, will be promoted within the party ranks, while simultaneously, she has decided to keep Akash Anand and his sister entirely away from any organizational responsibilities or roles within the BSP.
Displeasure Over Akash Anand's Conduct
Mayawati expressed her deep dissatisfaction regarding the conduct of Akash Anand. She revealed that it was upon the persistent request of her younger brother, Anand Kumar, that she had initially decided to promote his elder son, Akash Anand, into the political limelight. However, the BSP chief pointed out that following his marriage, Akash's attitude and activities underwent a change that wasn't aligned with the party's interests, while citing these behavioral shifts and his recent activities, Mayawati explained that she was compelled to distance him from the party just a few days ago. She further alleged that Akash had come under the significant influence of his father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth. Mayawati emphasized that reinstating Akash Anand into the party would be seen as an act of betrayal toward the organization and its mission.
Ishan Anand to Shoulder New Responsibilities
After extensive internal deliberations and careful consideration, Mayawati has decided to entrust Ishan Anand with a respectable responsibility within the party. She stated that the decision to promote Ishan was made to ensure that a family member who doesn't follow the path taken by Akash is given a chance to serve the organization. While Ishan Anand is being moved forward, Mayawati has also issued a stern warning, while she clarified that if Ishan is found engaging in any serious anti-party activities in the future, he too will face immediate expulsion from the party. This move is seen as an attempt to maintain discipline and loyalty within the top brass of the BSP.
Exclusion of Akash's Sister from Party Roles
The restructuring also extends to other members of the family, while mayawati has explicitly stated that Akash Anand's sister won't be given any responsibility within the BSP. The decision was taken to prevent a situation similar to the one encountered with Akash Anand after his marriage. Mayawati noted that to avoid any potential complications or conflicts of interest that might arise post-marriage, it's best to keep her away from the party's functional roles. The BSP chief asserted that this decision is final and there will be no changes to this stance in the future.
Strict Policy on Family Involvement
Mayawati has laid down a strict policy regarding the future of family involvement in the BSP, while she declared that if Ishan Anand fails to uphold the party's values or commits any serious anti-party acts leading to his removal, no other member of Anand Kumar's family will ever be given a small or large responsibility in the party again. In such an eventuality, Mayawati stated that the party would prioritize and promote a missionary and loyal worker from the Dalit community who has been dedicatedly working for the organization. This underlines her commitment to the party's core ideology over nepotism.
All India Meeting Scheduled for September 23
Beyond these internal leadership changes, Mayawati announced that an All India meeting of the BSP has been convened on September 23. This meeting will serve as a platform to discuss critical issues related to the country and public interest, while mayawati has called upon all party workers to dedicate their full strength and energy toward organizational work and strengthening the party's base ahead of the electoral challenges. The meeting on September 23 is expected to set the roadmap for the party's upcoming campaigns.
Adherence to Kanshi Ram's Principles
Mayawati justified her tough decisions by invoking the principles of BSP founder Kanshi Ram. She reminded the party cadre that Kanshi Ram always maintained a distance from providing political benefits to his close relatives. He dedicated his entire life to the welfare and upliftment of the Bahujan Samaj. Mayawati stated that she's following in the footsteps of Kanshi Ram by dedicating her own life to the cause of the Bahujan community, ensuring that personal family interests don't overshadow the mission of the party.
Reference to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's Historic Letter
To further validate her stance on keeping family and organization separate, Mayawati cited a historic letter written by Dr, while bhimrao Ambedkar on February 23, 1956. In this letter addressed to his son, Yashwant B. Ambedkar, Dr. Ambedkar had expressed that he wouldn't tolerate any irregularities in the functioning of public property or institutions. Mayawati mentioned that this letter serves as a profound source of inspiration for her to keep the interests of the organization distinct from those of her family. She emphasized that the integrity of the institution must always come first.
The Bahujan Samaj as the Real Family
Concluding her statement, Mayawati declared that the entire Bahujan Samaj is her real family. ' She asserted that for the realization of this ultimate goal, she wouldn't hesitate to take strict action even against her own siblings or family members if they hinder the progress of the mission. Her focus remains steadfast on the political empowerment of the community she represents.
