Mark Zuckerberg's company Meta suffered a huge clash with former US President Donald Trump. Meta settled a lawsuit for $25 million, in which Trump claimed to be censored on social media after the Capitol riots. This amount will go to Trump's presidential library.

Donald Trump News: Facebook and Instagram's parent company Meta will have to pay $25 million to settle a legal battle with former US President Donald Trump. Trump filed a lawsuit in 2021 claiming that Meta had unfairly censored his social media account after the Capitol Hill riots.

Trump's victory from the settlement

According to a report in the US newspaper Wall Street Journal, this settlement is being seen as a victory for Trump. Out of $25 million, 22 million will go to finance Trump's potential presidential library, while the remaining amount will cover legal expenses.

Trump and Zuckerberg's growing closeness

After Trump's social media accounts were banned in 2021, he strongly criticized Meta and other tech companies. However, recently Zuckerberg, Elon Musk and other tech giants have indicated to improve relations with Trump. Zuckerberg was also seen at Trump's inauguration ceremony.

Support for Trump in the business lobby

Zuckerberg and Elon Musk supported Trump during the presidential election. Trump made many promises to promote American companies during his last term, due to which many businessmen came in his support.

Meta is not alone, ABC News has also paid damages

Before Meta, ABC News had also paid $15 million to settle Trump's defamation suit. Legal pressure on media organizations and tech companies making statements against Trump is constantly increasing.
