England: Amidst battling the deadly Coronavirus infection, it has been reported that 2 cases of monkeypox have been reported in North Wales, UK. This information has been given by the Public Health Officers of North Wales. He told that this disease has come to the fore in two members of the same family. Due to this, both the patients have got the problem of rash, itching, fever and pain in the body.

There is no danger to the public

Both these patients are constantly monitored by the Public Health Department of both Wales and England. Meanwhile, Richard Firth, Health Safety Adviser for Public Health Wales, has said, 'It is a rare event to have 2 confirmed cases of monkeypox in the UK. This poses little danger to the general public. We have identified the people who came in contact with the patients under all protocols and procedures, working with multiple agencies. We are taking all protective measures so that this infection does not spread to other people.

What is Monkey Pox?

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), monkeypox is a disease caused by the virus, whose symptoms are similar to smallpox, but less severe than that. The common symptoms of this disease are fever, rash in the body. The disease is largely transmitted to humans by wild animals such as rats and monkeys. Apart from this, it also spreads from one person to another. 10 out of 100 patients suffering from this disease are expected to die.
