According to the Washington Post, more than 70 cases have been confirmed in many European countries including Germany, France, Belgium. The World Health Organization has started investigation. Three cases of monkeypox have been confirmed in Belgium. It has come to the fore about them that they can be related to a big festival of homosexuals. This festival took place in the city of Antwerp and a large number of people took part in it.

According to the news agency AFP, a festival called Darkland took place in Belgium from May 5. This festival lasted for four days. The organizers tell about this festival that many clubs and organizers participate in it. More than 150 volunteers are included. There are commercial events during the day. After that there are evening parties. People belonging to different gay communities take part in this. Festival organizers have feared that three people in Belgium who have symptoms of monkeypox have been found. They may have contracted the disease from foreigners attending the festival as there have been several cases of monkeypox abroad in recent times. The government's Risk Assessment Group has started an investigation into the festival.

Let us tell you that monkeypox is basically a disease spread in animals. This disease was first seen in a monkey in 1958. Its infection was detected in humans for the first time in 1970. It is a rare but serious viral disease. It spreads by coming in contact with fluids released from the body of an infected person. Staying around him for a long time can also surround this disease. It shows symptoms like fever, pain and tiredness. First red rashes and then boils are formed on the body. Smallpox-like rash emerges. According to the WHO, every 10th person infected with monkeypox can die. The people living near the forest are more prone to this disease. This disease can also take its grip of people through homosexual sex. Its effect usually lasts for two to four weeks. In some cases it can be serious, but in most it gets better on its own.

So far no suspected patient of monkeypox has been found in India. However, the central government has asked to be alert about this disease. According to news agency ANI, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has directed the National Center for Disease Control and ICMR to monitor the situation. He has said that health officials at airports and ports should be alert and isolate and test travelers coming from countries affected by monkeypox. Samples of passengers with symptoms of monkeypox should be sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune for examination.
