India-Maldives News: Maldives President Mohammed Muizzu has once again shown his attitude. Muizzu government has given time till March 15 to remove Maldivian troops from India. The President of Maldives said that Indian military personnel should leave the country by March 15. This statement of Muizzju has come at a time when he returned to Maldives after completing his five-day visit to China on Saturday itself. Muizzu also met Chinese President Xi Jinping during the tour.

Actually, for the last several years a contingent of the Indian Army has been deployed in Maldives. This contingent was deployed there on the request of the previous government of Maldives. This contingent of the Indian Army helps the Maldivian Army in maritime security as well as disaster relief operations, but now Muizzu's government has ordered the Indian Army contingent to leave Maldives by March 15.

Indian Army contingent includes 88 soldiers

Maldives' Public Policy Secretary Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has said that Indian military personnel can no longer stay in the country. This is the policy of President Mohammad Muizzu and his government. According to media reports, 88 Indian Army soldiers are present in Maldives. Muizzu government had called for the withdrawal of Indian troops about two months ago, but now they have also set a deadline for this.

Muizzu is counted among India's opponents

Two months ago, Muizzu had said that Maldives would have to ensure that there is no presence of foreign forces on their soil. Muizzu is considered close to China and he got power in Maldives only through his 'India Out' campaign. During the presidential elections held last year itself, the Muizzu government had promised the people that it would send back the Indian soldiers.

Formation of a high level group to discuss the withdrawal of troops

According to media reports, a high level group was formed between Maldives and India to discuss the issue of withdrawal of troops. The first meeting of the group was held at the Foreign Ministry headquarters of Maldives on Sunday morning. Indian High Commissioner Munu Mahawar also participated in this meeting. Nazim confirmed the meeting and said that the agenda of the meeting was a request to withdraw the troops by March 15. However, no information regarding the meeting has been provided by the Government of India.
