When Atal ji's government was in India, Nawaz was the PM of Pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif has held the reins of Pakistan for a long time. She was the Prime Minister of Pakistan even during the time of Atal ji's government. During his tenure, relations between India and Pakistan were in good times as well as bad times. Because before the Kargil war, Atal ji had gone to Lahore by bus as a goodwill gesture and Nawaz Sharif had given him a grand welcome and the dignitaries accompanying him from India. However, after some time, the Kargil war took place during Nawaz's tenure. In this way India-Pakistan relations turned sour. The then Pakistan Army General Pervez Musharraf had a big role in starting the war.
