Nitin Gadkari: '90% Of My Work Is Social Service, No Need For Campaigning'

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari stated in Pune that 90% of his work as a politician is dedicated to social service, which is why he does not feel the need to campaign during elections. He was speaking at the Punyabhushan Foundation awards ceremony.

Gadkari stated that he doesn't campaign during elections because, as a politician, '90 percent' of his work is social work. Nitin Gadkari was speaking as the chief guest at a ceremony organized by the Punyabhushan Foundation to honor eminent citizens of Pune. During the event, he honored the famous industrialist Abhay Firodia with the 'Punyabhushan' award. The senior BJP leader said, "Although I am a politician, 90 percent of my work is social work.

During the ceremony, Gadkari praised industrialist Abhay Firodia, stating that Firodia isn't only an industrialist but also a socially sensitive individual who follows ethics in business. The Union Minister highlighted Firodia's contributions to society and his commitment to ethical business practices.

Automobile Industry and the Future of Electric Vehicles

The Union Minister spoke about the automobile industry, noting that it provides significant employment to the youth. He mentioned that the market for electric vehicles (EVs) is growing rapidly, while according to him, buyers currently have to wait longer for electric vehicles compared to petrol and diesel vehicles, indicating the high demand for green mobility.

Nitin Gadkari's Political Journey and Achievements

Regarding Nitin Gadkari's political journey, he began his political life in the seventies with the student organization ABVP and played an active role during the Emergency. His stature in Maharashtra politics grew when he became the Public Works Department (PWD) Minister in the state government in 1995. He established his identity as the 'Infrastructure Man' by constructing the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and more than 50 flyovers in Mumbai. Considering his organizational abilities, he was made the National President of the BJP in 2009, which was a crucial milestone in his political career. Serving continuously as the Minister of Road Transport and Highways at the Center since 2014, he has not only laid a network of National Highways across the country but has also won the respect of opponents through his working style.

In his address, Nitin Gadkari clarified that his working style and dedication to social causes keep him away from traditional election campaigning, as he views his political life as an extension of social service.
