Delhi Police: The Delhi Police on Tuesday signed an MoU with Truecaller, an ID calling app, to curb cyber frauds in the national capital. The function was presided over by Sanjay Singh, Special Commissioner of Police, Trucker India and Pragya Mishra at Police Headquarters. An MoU was signed and exchanged between Deputy Commissioner of Police Suman Nalwa and Mishra.

As per the MoU, Truecaller will display official numbers of Delhi Police representatives on its Delhi Police Directory Services and all verified numbers will have a green badge and a blue tick mark with a government service tag highlighted. "The partnership with Truecaller will help the public identify verified numbers and protect them from cyber frauds and impersonation scams in the name of government officials," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Suman Nalwa.

He added, "Delhi Police will regularly share a list of phone numbers against which they have received complaints regarding harassment, scam or issues registered against them with Truecaller, so that they can identify spam or fraud on the platform for the safety of citizens." These numbers can be flagged as such and alerted in case of these numbers. Truecaller in association with Delhi Police will create cyber security awareness by training citizens in Delhi to thwart cyber threats.
